FACE MASK ART: https://pixels.com/profiles/laurel-adams/shop/face+masks
Another original watercolour tutorial surfaced ...and I was considering further developing it. This minimalist several second-under one minute quick study evolved from five drops of concentrated Holbein pigment dropped wet onto wet clear water drawn and filled trees. While being almost vertically held , Colour was then vertically dragged for the trees and further developed in wet bleeds of cloud leaf canopy and earth. The bleeds were mixed on the paper itself, (diluting to fade) and the runoff was collected in a small tray beneath. The exercise of this intent was to emphasize the notion of creative free flow and trusting one’s relationship to that flow.
A personal side to this watercolour as told in a comment to a FAA friend:
I struggled ...upload or not?...I really love how it developed SO quickly, even at the vertical angle. Secretly, these little tutorials were always my favorites...that’s why I cannot discard them:-)). And, it freed others to go BOLDLY and risk mis-takes...that became mini beauties when I matted them mid development. I randomly would mat in process works and turn them as I walked to show everyone their work...It generates such enthusiasm and teamwork! A mat is a WONDERful “ Finder”! It releases people to touch their best inner visions! Each always left with a new original matted work ready for framing when dry...that is why I taught in 5x7...easier to tackle and move thru FEAR, easy to develop in two hours, affordable bulk mat prices.
The more I look at this diminutive study...it is FINISHED!... I love the intuitive balance...yes, water knew where it wished to travel...I honored it once...and again now. And...check out the product Art...particularly the shower curtain, phone cover and tote! STUNNING. ENJOY.

Revisiting this all time favorite. such a great example of how you don't need a lot of brushstrokes to make a powerful statement.

I just read your post in the water media thread. Fascinating process, great result. I am going to try this.

loved seeing this in the new thread in The BUZzz, Laurel! A true "loose" watercolor, letting the water and pigment do what it does and going with the FLOW! F

This little gem is watercolor at its best. It invites the viewer to participate in its imagined world. Trusting the water and paint to know where to flow produces such unique results that just can't be equalled by more controlled painting. Revisit.
